Benefits of Eating Breakfast - Your First Meal
of The Day Is Important
Skip
breakfast and you will lose weight. This right here is probably
what you have been reading and believe, but in all honesty skipping
breakfast is only harming your weight loss goals. Eating breakfast
has many benefits including the fact that eating breakfast helps
your metabolism and will allow you to lose more weight. Eating a
healthy breakfast also allows you to concentrate more clearly at
work and school leading to a more productive and satisfying day.
Many people think that not only skipping breakfast
is a good idea, but people also think that they do not have the
time for a proper nutritional breakfast. Working or running behind
might give one an excuse to not have to eat or make breakfast, but
think and plan ahead the night before and your body will thank you
later.
One way to start getting into the routine of eating
breakfast is to start out slow. There isn't a need to become a chef
overnight to help you lose weight. Try having a healthy bowl of
oatmeal. Oatmeal has enough nutrition to provide you with the balance
you need first thing in the morning and to get you through the day.
Along with oatmeal, try having a glass of green tea instead of coffee.
Too much caffeine is never a good thing in my opinion. Also, another
great source of nutrition that gets your metabolism going is to
eat toast. There are various types of toast. I personally recommend
Ezekiel bread. Ezekiel bread is full of nutrition and is low in
fat. You can add sugar free or fat free jelly to the bread to make
it taste even better and to cure that early morning sweet tooth!
Remember, as your body gets used to the morning nutrition, your
body's metabolism will start to kick into overdrive. Along with
the proper exercise routine, you will start to shed pounds. If you
are still looking for things to eat or drink in the morning, here
are a few ideas:
Drink
plenty of water
- Try green tea instead of coffee
- Grapefruit
- Apples
- Low-fat yogurt
There are more reasons than just boosting your metabolism,
to encourage you to eat breakfast. Eating breakfast will help you
avoid wanting to snack midmorning. Mid-morning snacks will only
go to your waistline which I am sure you are wanting to trim down
instead of bulk up.
If you are still doubting the idea of eating breakfast
for whatever reason, maybe because you never have enough time in
the morning, think of this. Set your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier
than you normally would. This will allow you just enough time to
get the proper nutrition in to start the day off on the right foot.
This does not mean that you drive to a fast food restaurant and
order off the menu and think that this will help boost your metabolism.
You must think smart and in doing so, you will continue to watch
your calories. If the only way you see yourself getting that proper
nutrition first thing in the morning is to go through a drive-thru,
then ask for a nutritional guide. These guides will help you make
smart choices that will help you with your weight loss goals.
Eating breakfast is a smart decision. One that we
should make for ourselves and even our family can benefit from a
healthy breakfast. Kids shouldn't skip meals and neither should
adults who are looking to lose weight and boost their metabolisms.
