Exercise Questions - How Can I Increase
My Bench Press?
Exercise Question: I'm looking for a way to move my bench press from 375
for 1 rep to 405. Do you have a sure fire way to achieve this goal?
Exercise Answer: Wow, that is a very impressive bench press! For your
level of strength, you may want to focus on heavy two-arm dumbbell pullovers for
really widening the rib cage. You can review this exercise here:
Along with the pullovers, you should focus
on deep and heavy squats which forces your body to grow and build strength for
many other lifts (bench, military, etc.). I would also recommend focusing on building
strength in your secondary muscle groups, such as the triceps. By focusing on
specific mass and strength building exercises for the secondary muscles, adding
pullovers to expand your ribcage and squats for overall core power, your bench
press poundage should increase. Best of luck to you!
