Exercise Questions - Why Are My Muscles
So Fatigued?
Exercise Question: I have not exercised since I graduated from high school
twelve years ago. I lack cardio endurance and muscular strength/endurance. I just
joined a gym and bought a treadmill for my home. I can do 30 minutes on the treadmill
just fine, but my problem is every time I try to use the stepper, bike, or the
elliptical machine my leg muscles get so fatigued after a few minutes. It's not
so much as I am out of breath, it's more my legs go into a spasms if I keep going.
It so embarrassing. What should I do? Where should I start. I just want to be
able use those machines, go up stairs, or up a hill with no problems. Please give
me any advice you can. I didn't know who I should ask advice from for this matter.
Exercise Answer: If you have been experiencing these muscle spasms for
a while now, I would highly recommend contacting your local physician and have
a full physical performed. This may be caused by other factors and you want to
make sure you are fine before performing these exercises. Once you have a clean
bill of health, let me know and I will create a cardio plan for you.
