New Years Weight Loss Resolutions - Ways To Start
Taking Action Today
When
you hear the word "resolution"? What words does it conjure
up? Resolve, resign? Not very motivating is it? This year instead
of making resolutions, take actions. If you want change in your
life, then things need to change, to move, to act. Taking action
is a declaration. "I declare that I will exercise three times
a week." That statement demands action and action will give
you the results you want. Time to ACT. But wait, how? I mean look
at all the choices: Yoga, personal training, suspension training,
cycle, kickboxing, bootcamps, massage, small group, corporate wellness,
nutrition consultation, and many other forms of health and fitness.
What does it all mean, where do I find it and how the heck do
I afford it in this economy?
First let's begin with the essentials of proper health and fitness:
Cardio, resistance weight training and proper nutrition. That's
it. Those three components create optimum health. It is the quality
and quantity of those three that are important. The health and fitness
industry has changed dramatically over the last 5 years. It happened
because of each of you and your needs. We listened to what you needed
to be successful at creating a healthy life. The industry created
options to meet the likes and interests and time constraints required
by the public, but met the health needs of every individual. You
don't have to join a gym.
The easiest and cheapest way to get fit and healthy is DVDs. DVDs
are available everywhere. Save money by buying used versions and
find the style and people you like. Get several different kinds
that use different styles.
Next would be studios that hold boot camps, one-on-one training
as well as small group and perhaps suspension training. Boot camps
are the big thing now, and at my fitness studio, we have several
to choose from including suspension training with the TRX. Boot
camp programs are designed for several people to work out together,
yet still get the one-on-one from the trainer when it comes to form
and modifications of exercises. Fast results, great fun and build
confidence. You also get nutrition consults to meet the 3 requirements
for good health.
Other studio-type atmospheres include yoga and boxing. It's all
about getting in shape. No sissies allowed in yoga. Boxing, kickboxing
and MMA (mixed martial arts) style training are a great way to get
all three components for optimum health.
Massage, acupuncture, acupressure, Reiki, bio mat, these are all
part of health. Stress wreaks havoc on our bodies and we must make
the conscious effort to put our health first. This is a gift to
yourself or a loved one that will always be appreciated.
Corporate wellness comes in so many different packages that it
requires its own article! Suffice it to say, businesses are incorporating
more and more of these packages into the work force. If you have
one available, USE IT. Now there is only one thing left to do, choose
an option and ACT on it NOW!
