Workout Questions - Dumbbell Pullovers vs Extensions
Workout Question:
I was checking out your website and I think you should clarify
the difference that exists between these two exercises, because
it's not clear neither from the pictures nor from the descriptions:
Workout Answer:
Yes, the photo demonstrations make these 2 exercises look very
similar. The main difference is that the "lying dumbbell tricep
extensions" will be focusing on the tricep muscle and the elbows
will bend more on the downward movement and then extend on the upward
movement. It's very much like this exercise but you will be laying
down versus sitting:
The dumbbell pullovers will be performed with your arms and elbows
in basically the same position throughout the entire movement. The
elbows should not be bending or extending at any point. This movement
is very similar to the barbell pullover movement here:
The pullover exercise is working the chest and helping to expand
the rib cage for a thicker upper body.
