Fat Burning Questions - Working Out But Not Losing Weight

fitness-advice Question:
Hi, I jog or swim about 2-3 times a week (each) and I find that my body hasn't changed much even with the exercise. I think I may not be working out long enough. A friend told me that if I'm not sore the next day, I haven't worked out long enough. Does that make sense?

fitness-advice Answer:
The real key is your diet. Try and really pinpoint where you're food is coming from. Keep a food journal and this will help you determine your intake and calorie levels. You also want to make sure you're eating the right carbs, protein and healthy fats to lose body fat and gain muscle.

In terms of the soreness, this is dependent on your weight training sessions vs. your cardio. When you do cardio, you should not monitor your soreness. Weight training would be a better area where you may monitor this since you're breaking down muscle and soreness will provide an indicator of the tearing down of muscle fibers.
