Tammy's Fit Moms Success Story!
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
I have two children. My son is 11, and my daughter is 9 months.
How much weight did you gain during your pregnancy?
I gained 25 pounds during pregnancy. I started off heavier than
I am now. My daughter was premature at 2 pounds 14 ounces and
I still had 20 pounds extra to lose.
What types of cheat foods did you crave during your pregnancy?
Pasta and grilled cheese sandwiches.
How much weight did you lose after your pregnancy?
I lost more than my pregnancy weight after pregnancy. I was 125
pounds prior to getting pregnant.
Did you exercise during your pregnancy?
I had a lot of complications with my last pregnancy so I gave
up working out altogether. I just made sure I tried watching what
I ate (chicken, eggs and tuna made me nauseous) though if I had
a craving, I usually gave in. I just stayed away from eating anything
heavy late at night. However, you just get to a point in pregnancy
that you start retaining water no matter what you do or don't
put in your mouth.
What made you decide to start exercising and get back into shape
after your pregnancy?
I didn't want to carry around all that extra weight. It was my
goal to try and get back my pre-baby body before I started work
again.
How long did it take you to start to see results?
I nursed my daughter for the first 6 months of her life, so after
I stopped nursing (and stopped eating soup) I started to lose
the weight.
How long did it take for you to reach your current weight?
It took just over 3 months.
How long have you maintained your weight?
I am able to maintain my physique by incorporating a well balanced
diet as well as regular exercise 5 days a week.

How many days per week do you workout now?
I workout 5 days a week.
What were the most important changes you made to lose the weight?
Even though it was difficult, I had to make sure I was working
out and getting enough sleep.
What was the biggest challenge about losing the weight?
The biggest challenge was actually getting the workouts in and
getting an adequate amount of sleep so that my body would transform.
How has your life changed since losing the weight?
I have had compliments on achieving my goal weight by other single
moms who are still struggling to lose the weight.
What advice can you give moms who don't think they can lose the
baby weight?
Just keep at it! If I can do it with extreme challenges (a premature
baby and taking care of 2 kids full-time without help) you can
too!
How has ShapeFit helped you reach your fitness goals?
ShapeFit's weight
loss success stories are very inspiring.

Tammy's Fit Moms Tips!
Fit Moms Tip #1:
Make sure you are getting enough sleep and drinking enough water.
Fit Moms Tip #2:
Get to the gym, even if you are feeling tired or your workouts
don't end up lasting as long as you'd like. There were many times
I would just get to the gym and my daughter would have one of
her screaming tantrums and the daycare person at the gym would
call me to come get her. At least you are getting yourself (and
your kids) in the habit of going.
Fit Moms Tip #3:
Don't snack on the kids food while you are cooking it.
Fit Moms Tip #4:
Not everyone will be supportive of the goals you are trying to
achieve. Do your best to ignore it.
Fit Moms Tip #5:
Get your workouts in whenever and whereever you can.

Usually grilled chicken or tuna (sometimes eggs or an omelette)
and salad with veggies.

Tammy's Fit Moms Workout Routine!
Weight Training:
I weight train 5 days a week.
Cardiovascular:
I do 45 minutes of elliptical trainer prior to breakfast, 5 times
a week. If I am unable to complete pre-breakfast cardio (as I
have a small baby), I will do 30 minutes of cardio after weight
training on weight training days.
Supplements:
Caffeine. Lots of caffeine! :)
