Fawnia's Biography Parents Barbara and Mike
Blasutig. My birth father is John Mondey, and my second father is Carl Henry (my
mother married three times). My mother is an angel, with a heart that can do no
wrong. When she was just 6 months old, she was diagnosed with meningitis, and
was expected to die. As my grandmother stood beside Barbaras tiny bed, she
said to herself, "if God wills that should die, then I would have to let
go. "But I wanted her to live" said my grandma when I asked her
about this. "When I came to that stage of thinking, and knowing that I would
have to let go, Barbara seemed to show a sign that she would live." At
7 months old, my mother was still in the hospital, but the doctors had good news.
Barbara will live, but may be blind. "When I went to get her, she had a frightened
look in her eyes, but she lost that look quickly and nuzzled her face into the
fur of the jacket." My mother is blind in the left corner of her left
eye, and her left hand never developed. While on the bus, at the age of about
5, she said to my grandma, "Mom, you know I am glad to be like this because
it makes others realize how lucky they are." I am lucky to have such an amazing
person to be my mother! At the age of 16, she began having partial seizures.
I remember my mother having 3 or more seizures a day while I was growing up. Today
I believe her medication keeps this down to maybe one a week. Seeing my
mother struggle with her health and body weight all her life, I feel luckier then
you may ever know. I thank her for raising me to eat well, exercise and respect
my body. I was raised a mormon until the age of 15 when I moved out on my own.
Today I study Kabbalah. I thank my three fathers for loving me. In 2005
I vision them walking me down the isle, in the opposite order they raised me,
so my birth father can give me away at my wedding. Brother David
Mondey. He is extremely crafty and resourceful. He enjoys fixing cars, and does
art; painting scenes on rocks and sculptures. David helps run a warehouse which
caters to receiving wooden art and furniture from areas such as Thailand and Indonesia.
He is 2 years younger then me. Partner My partner of seven years,
Geoff and I broke up in 2004. It was a terrible year for both of us which I deeply
regret. With many lessons learned it will be Geoff who I'll always remember being
by my side during my 20s. "The only way of finding the limits of the
possible is by going beyond them into the impossible." Arthur C. Clarke My
Start I was born in 1975, in the small town of Kamloops, BC Canada. My
home was Alberta, Canada until I was eight. I lived in the small towns of Sundrey,
and Olds, and spent a couple years in Calgary. In 1983 I moved to Victoria, BC
and still live here. I have been to various cities across Canada including
Whitehorse, and have enjoyed visiting both coasts of Mexico, Jamaica, various
cities in California, Nevada, the north and south coast of Florida, Illinois,
Georgia, Hawaii, Washington, Ohio, and Kentucky. In Europe, I have enjoyed working
in Antwerpen, Belgium; Prague Czech Rep, and Cannes, France. In 2003 Nassau, Bahamas
was my home for half the year. Often I feel like I am always starting something
new, but that is the beauty about life. New beginnings are to be enjoyed, not
feared, but we are only human and fear is an emotion we need. What a balancing
act! Goals in Life "Some things in life happen by
chance, but what happens next is by choice." 1. My goal for 2004 is
to have my fitness show: Fawnia & Friends on air by September. With CHUM television
in Canada giving the thumbs up, I am on my way! 2. By 2006 I would like
to be a pro figure competitor. 3. Ultimately I would like to marry and be
the best wife possible for my partner. . Together wed have 2 or 3 children
and raise them to have a open heart and loving smile. Athletic
Background In elementary school I ran cross country and the 800m. I also
was on all the team sports but enjoyed volleyball most which is something I recently
started playing again after 10 years off. In 2001 I took up golfing by taking
lessons with Lori Randle (Pro), but have only been to the driving range, pretty
sad I know. My start with weight training At the age of 13 with
two 5lb dumbbells, (which I asked my grandmother for Christmas) I simply moved
them around any way I could. Doing curls, shoulder presses and lying on my back
and working my chest was my first workout. At 16 I was starting to gain weight
but didnt notice until turning 18. I gained some muscle during my first
two years of dabbling with weights, but with my unbalanced diet (too many carbs)
I also gained fat. My weight was 140 lbs. When I lost weight from dancing, I saw
that I had potential to build a nice physique. Joining a gym and learning about
food was my ticket to my current condition. There is always more to learn though,
and my body is always changing. For my first show in 1999, I found out what
I was made of (visual and emotionally) and placed 1st in the womens light
weight, Muscle & Fitness Mania, in Burnaby, BC Canada. In Sept 2003 I competed
a second time, but in figure rather then bodybuilding, and earned a spot in the
Canadian Nationals! I am hooked, though its not always a piece of cake.
Sometimes its the whole cake! My Start as a Fitness model
In 1998 I started a basic portfolio which quickly grew. Shooting with any photographer
possible has giving me true sense of how to work with both the camera and person
shooting. Until 2002 I had appeared in a few magazines such as Oxygens back
cover for Muscle Marketing USA, and Natural Bodybuilding & Fitnesss
last page for Cardillo Weight Belts. In Feb 2002 I decided to give modeling all
I had, by entering the yearly model search for Malibu Body Wear. I was one of
the two female winners and in June 2002 shot with photographer Alex Ardenti. My
previous shooting came in handy, and I had my first shoot with a top fitness magazine
photographer. In Oct 2002, I shot with Alex a second time with Canadian pro bodybuilder
Mike Platz, for the cover of MuscleMag. This photo became the cover for March
2003s MuscleMag International!
With that cover, I have gained the confidence
to go after my dream of becoming a recognized fitness athlete, and model who is
able to offer guidance regarding emotional and physical health. Fawnia
& Friends Television Show My television show Fawnia & Friends
will be a perfect medium for people worldwide to learn about how to improve their
emotional and physical health, plus viewers will get to know an A
list of high profile international fitness experts, including Laura Mak, Kristia
Knowles and Frank Sepe. We are aiming for Sept 2004 for airing, starting with
Canadas CHUM TV. Other networks are being added as we speak.
