I HAVE OSTEOPOROSIS AND I AM 24 YEARS OLD. I MUST BEGIN WEIGHT TRAINING TO STRENGTHEN MY BONES. I ALSO HAVE KIDNEY FAILURE AND HAD LUPUS. WHEN I RUN IT DOES HURT MY JOINTS BUT I REALLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO RUN 6 TO 7 MILES SOMEDAY.
I AM TAKING GOJI JUICE AND THIS PUT THE LUPUS IN REMISSION AND IT ALSO HELPED MY ARTHRITIC PAIN. I AM ALSO TAKING SOME VITAMINS WITH THE GOJI JUICE TO REVERSE THE OSTEOPOROSIS.
HOW SHOULD I BEGIN TO RUN. SHOULD I START WALKING EVERYDAY FIRST OR STRENGTH TRAINING FIRST? I BELIEVE I CAN RUN 6 TO 7 MILES ONE DAY, IT IS POSSIBLE , I AM SIMPLY LOOKING FOR SOME ADVICE. GOD BLESS ALL

| i'm no doctor but i wood say try weights 1st as your bones might niot be strong enough to support pounding from running...do 2 wt sessions a week and 2 walks a week either after wts or on a seperate day...eat as much protein as you can although i'm not sure with kidneys so maybe liquid protein is the way to go...you might have to list what you can and can't do, eat etc for better understanding...whatever we say here though you'll need your doctor to give the ok on before you even think about trying it |

I think the most important thing is that you ask your doctor what he/she thinks you should be doing before taking this venture. Following his or her recommendations, I would sugges starting with walking and working up to jogging when you feel more comfortable. You can start out with light weights and very slowly progress. It will be very important for you to use proper form on all exercises and go slowly through the movements. Try starting out with dumbbell exercises and make sure you are using each muscle group.
