My Wife is very upset about getting stretch marks from when she was pregnant with our 2 kids. Our youngest is now 2 and my wife is happy that she has lost the pregnancy fat, but she still has the stretch marks...Is there anything she can do to get rid of them?

You can use things like Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter, and probably Water intake can help too.
You can also use things like Bio Oil, and some other product I believe called something like Mahadeva |

I haven't have kids yet myself, but I've had plenty of those! They are a pain but luckily they do fade over time, and I know there are some cremes available by presciption from the doctor or dermetologist and so I would suggest that she sees her GP or gets a refferal to a derm
I do know that cocoa butter and vitamin e can help, but I have found myself that they don't make a huge difference....mine have just faded over time...
Also, I would advise her to protect her skin from the sun by wearing sunscreen, as it can make them more noticeable... |

Your input is appreciated.
On this matter Darth, try the things I said, but I would still see no reason not to visit a doctor like Eyes said, and see what that yields . |

Stretch marks are caused by tears in the dermis layer of skin. The stretch mark itself is actually a scar from this tearing. There is no magic oil or cream that will make them disappear. They will fade with time and become less noticeable.
If using a cream or oil it is best to use it during a particular stage of life when stretch marks will be inevitable, like pregnancy or weight gain for other reasons.
Whether or not someone gets stretch marks is largely genetic. She can help prevent them by staying well hydrated but it is not a sure-fire prevention.
Unfortunately, she will never get rid of the stretch marks but remember they will fade with time to near the same colour as her skin.
I personally have many stretch marks from having my boys and they are, for the large part, the same colour as the rest of my skin now, my youngest son is turning 7 later this month. |
