Hello,

I just thought I'd check back at this site because i'm finally ready to start an exercise program! Smile

I actually found out that I'm quite depressed and have been seeing a psychologist about it, but it's no wonder I am since who i want to be (i.e. healthy, in shape etc.) is so far from who i am at the moment (i.e. very heavy, out of shape etc.) and let's face it is just plain depressing being obese! Sad

So I finally feel like i've gotten though some issues to see why I am "out of balance" and feel like i have a good idea now how I can get to be in balance and I think in addition to eating well exercise is very important...

so im heading to the gym today Smile
I'm going to look to see if bossman posted an idea for a workout on here, but if anyone has any recommendations... the only concern i have is that my knees hurt sometimes when i bend down quickly, but other than that, and having a big chest Wink lol I find that i can do most exercises...

we're all happy that you are back on track..

exercises for you to start with should be:

5min warm up on something

standing pelvic tilts
standing wall ab isolations
swissball wall squats
machine row
wall or bench push ups

you should do all of these for 2 sets of 15 reps either as straight sets where you do all sets for 1 exercise than go to the next or as a circuit where you do 1 set of each exercise one after the other...

rest periods will go on how you feel but 90 - 120secs btw exercises should be plenty

if at anytime you feel dizzy etc, stop have a breather and reassess

follow this with 10mins of slight incline treadmill walking or exercise biking at an easy to moderate pace and your done...whatever cardio you do here make it different from warm up

good luck

do this 2 - 3 times a week

I'm glad to see that you are ready to commit to a lifestyle change. Stay positive, determined and don't accept any thing less than what you are able to do.

If you really want this you can do it.

Just don't think of yourself as second best, when you don't have to be Smile.
