this is my first time posting on this website...but I feel as though I've kind of started to get bored with my workouts and so I found this place to get some advice!
the tools I have is one 10lb free weight, a big 'balance' ball, and cardio dvds and a resistance band. That's about it, no gym membership or anything .........I normally stick to mostly cardio, but i add resistance during my cardio workouts with my resistance band. .....there are a lot more options for strength training with my balance ball..but like I said, I've just gotten kinda bored :\
I'm also trying to lose more weight!! I started out at 250lbs(5'4")and am now 210lbs in about a year....and I'm ecstatic about that, but I know I could have lost more in a year's time...but there were short patches of laziness in between and I'm ready to go at it full throttle once more b/c I know that works best for me and I really want to reach my goal of 130-145lbs
....which should be possible by next spring or summer right? hehe
oh! and here is an example of my typical diet:
Breakfast - oatmeal or cereal w/ some fruit on the side OR some sort of egg white scramble w/ veggies and fruit on the side
Snack- (usually between each meal/ sometimes not after lunch though)
fruit, granola, yogurt, or baby carrots
Lunch- usually a low sodium frozen meal w/ high protein&veggies, or an egg white scramble w/ veggies (if I didn't have that for breakfast)
Dinner- also usualy a low sodium/high protein frozen meal(this is usually lean cuisine) or I'll have grilled/baked salmon, chicken, veggie bbq meat, etc. |

Diet seems fine. Just give Fruit 10-15 minutes, to digest before the other food so it doesn't get it's digestion affected.
This is something I posted here before for Cardio. It might work for you.
2 minutes jogging.
5 minutes stretching.
45 seconds High Knees
45 seconds Squat Thrusts
45 seconds Jumping Jacks
45 seconds Scissors, (placing hands on a Step or Weight Bench)
45 seconds Star Jumps
1 minute rest.
60 seconds High Knees
60 seconds Squat Thrusts
60 seconds Jumping Jacks
60 seconds Scissors, (placing hands on a Step or Weight Bench)
60 seconds Star Jumps
1 minute rest
45 seconds High Knees
45 seconds Squat Thrusts
45 seconds Jumping Jacks
45 seconds Scissors, (placing hands on a Step or Weight Bench)
45 seconds Star Jumps
5 minutes stretching
The whole circuit takes approximately 26 minutes 45, so that should give you something challenging to do, that doesn't take a long time.
Just work at your own pace, don't go crazy, this is not way difficult, but it will be if you work the circuit like a crazy person.
If the circuit feels a bit difficult, trim the stations down, so 45 secs to 30 secs, 60 to 45, so you cut nearly 4 minutes off it in total.
Do this 2-3 times a week, with a day inbetween each workout, don't do this workout on concurrent days. |
