Is it safe to work your abs everyday or should you give them a few days of rest in between like with other muscle groups? What frequency will give the most positive results?

abs are the same as any other muscle and needs recovery time after direct training...2/week should be enough as they get trained every time you move...that being said i don't do any ab work at all but have a 6 pack from a clean diet and doing basic compound exercises which is really how 6 packs are made

What basic compound exercises do you do that help to define your abs?

I pretty much agree.

3x a week is all Abs really need at most, if you choose to isolate them..

they won't define them...clean diet will define them...these will train them with heavier loads making them stronger...if you have strong abs than with a low bodyfat you'll have a 6 pack for sure

best exercises:

deadlifts
squats
prints
plyometrics
standing shoulder presses

I do have a clean diet and my stomach is pretty flat. My ab muscles just aren't very strong. Thanks for your advice. I will start trying these different exercises. Very Happy
