|
|
| Sometimes, I like to go on a bike path for my cardio workout. I usually bike for about 40 minutes one way and then I turn around and do the same thing back. Is there some piece of equipment you can get to track your mileage? There are no signs posted along the way and it doesn’t run parallel with any streets, so I cannot drive along beside it to track the distance. I would just like to know how many miles I go each way. |

Hi Katie,
I bought a little computer device that hooks up to your front tire and measures speed, distance, time etc. Cost about 25$ and I like having those stats, gives you something to measure against each time you go out. I got it from my bike shop and they installed it.

| how about timing it and beating that time each time you do it unless you're going for an easy ride |

| I push myself as hard as I can. I never thought about just trying to beat my time. That's a good idea. I was just curious as to how far I was actually going. |

They are sold everywhere, I got mine at a bike store b'coz I didn't want to install it, got them to do it. I find it's useful, since it times down to the second, when I pass a point in my course, I can see if I'm above or below the past benchmark. The odometer is motivating, I've put over 200k on my bike since I got that thing.
