I have recently became interested in football again and was wondering what to do to improve my speed. Im thinking about doing some overspeed but some more ideas would be welcomed. Im not really a expert on this if you can't tell |

1. Developing muscle.
2. Sprint work.
I feel those two will give you some assistance you seek. |

| You can absolutely still do squats, leg press, all sorts of weight raining. Your speed development is primarily going to come from getting out there and working on it. There are a million different ways to do speed work. All sorts of drills and sprints you can do on the track. |

i was talking to my velocity coach the other day and he said the main way to get faster was through running.
Yes muscle will make you stronger but if you don't run it's useless because your body has to become accustomed to its own body weight (sprinting+lifting)
Use a leg press machine on the top bar to work alot of ham's and do squats with not much weight but alot of reps. |

- muscel doesn;t always make you stronger...look at bodybuilders vs powerlifters...PL lift a shitload more wt but the light wt class blokes are 1/2 the size if that
- strength will make you fatser but yes, you obviuosly do need to actually sprint
- leg press won;t do a thing and light wt / high reps squats will actually make you slower |
