alternate them i'd say, you need both of them for competition

remember though you need to use VARIATIONS of them, not regular deads and squats

I love my new gym and my new home isn't bad either. I had to leave my gym job, not enough work to live ... My job wasn't enough payed and I was loosing work hours little at little by those who have studied you know ... Damn bookreaders who don't even train themselves and don't know anything but what they've learn at school ... taking away my hope to work as a PT. Well, now I work at night as an assistant to the beneficiary in an old people place ... Job isn't amusing and the salary isn't that great but at least I can live.

yes, i've given you this before i think so for a deads cycle you may do 4 weeks of snatch grip deads, mid shin ht rack pulls, sumo deads and defict deads or something liuke that, not actual deads and same with bench and squat
- mate what are you thinking? 15 warm up sets?? in a fvat loss phase??? and going for a PR?? mate keep fresh fro god's sake
- keep reading up and then wow them in the intervies like i did...i didn;t even get an intitial look in when i first applied then i replied saying i'm better then my resume says i am and they brought me in and beat 97 other people out for this job...purely on self education

I know I must do variation but no full ROM on ME ? Seems weird to me. I must teach my nervous system to lift heavy on competition lift right ?

15 sets yes, but they were not heavy. It's only because I dislike dead for reps. Normally I would have done something like :

360x8
390x3
420x3
460x1
PR
Singles

So it's almost the same thing, and even better I believe.

For sure I will keep my knowledge update and continue to learn and to learn more. THIS IS MY PASSION, but ... I got to eat. Well I don't give up at 100% but almost.

- you'll lift heavier over a shorter range of motion
- that is your problem, your trying to lean down and train for a comp at the same time...can't be done
- well do them for reps...doing the same amount of reps in singles rather than sets does not have the same metabolic (fat burning) effect, if that's what you were going for
- better for setting pb's which you shouldn't be doing now and only in comp's

Christopheel, do you have all of your required certifications? If so, have you thought about taking on a few clients such as family/friends to get started? That could help you get your foot in the door, plus, if your clients see positive results, they could refer you to their friends/family as well. Just a thought. It’s wonderful how passionate you are about your work. It shows that you really care about people and you will go out of your way to help them rather than just wanting to collect their money and send them out the door. Best of luck to you! Very Happy

-Lifting heavier but with sorter ROM witch isn't what we do in competition ... I mean If I do mid above knee rack pull for a month then after another rack pull for a month etc. etc. when will I actually deadlift ? I have difficulty to understand how could I get that much stronger at deadlifting without deadlifting.

-I know that doing 8 sets of single dosen't have the same effect that 8 reps in one set but, I've done many singles with no rest, only the time to change weight witch isn't long, and overall the volume was a bit higher and the form much more better and I felt WAy better to hit my PR.

-Hum, what ? pb's ?

Well at the moment I was working as an assistant and when someone was looking for a PT, the gym I was working at were referring them to someone else I didn't had the chance to sell myself ... I had 4 regular Clients while others could have already 14-15 ... Even if themselves they don't seem to train and have a solid diet.

But I was "owned" by the gym, that mean I couldn't do my own promotion there. A client arrived ask for a PT the gym then refer.

Doing it on my own would involve time to get started but since I'm kicked out of my home, no time left.

So let's help out the old peeps, they're funny at least ... but washing people, carrying things etc. isn't a very nice job, but at least I can pay my 1 1/2, grocery and my bicycle ! Wink

- lifting sub maximial loads more then you can over full range of motion, isometrics etc) overloads the nervous sytem and the tendons/ligaments...that is how you get strong or you'll reach a plateu somewhere and that will be as far as you'll go
- you slao don;t row, chin up or shoulder press in comp either so may as well take them out as well
- you need to strengthen all area's used in the big 3...by doing various versions of deadlifts you strengthen all area's so they sre somewhat "even" while still using heavy wy instead of isolation exercises where the wt barely raises a sweat...pop "westside barbell" in google and read away mate
- pb, pr same thing
- why were they not referring to you?
- kicked out of home??

what is going on there......

Yes Katie everything okay, I had 2 month to find an apartment so I'm not in trouble really.

Why, well my mom don't like what I'm doing, doesn't respect it and don't understand it. She would have prefer that I go study to become an professor or a doctor, but a personal trainer ? No way ... I've tried, but school isn't made for me. This is why I was asked to leave ...

@Swanso

-Oh I see, but where do full ROM lift takes place ?
-Really funny.
-I've already read this article but I will re-read when work's finish.
-My gym wasn't referring me first because I was the PT with the less scholarship. The order were not based on unofficial knowledge or exam result, but on overall total scholarship. So I was screwed. 2 of my 4 clients were asking to work with me, and the other 2 was only because the others PT were already overwhelm with all their current clients. And maybe too because the director who was giving the class for the certification didn't liked much my tons of questions and arguments when he was "teaching" . So this doesn't help to have the director against me.

- well that's it, you won't actually do a regular deadlift until the end of each cycle (12 week sor so) just for a quick gauge of wt
- you gotta suck it up mate...if this is what you want to do then do what you need to do to do it...i didn't even make rent money the first month i worked here

Chris... Whats a cuban press?

As for your current job/living situation... Keep your chin up! Things will get better! It sounds like you'd make a great PT!! Might just take a little time for things to fall into place! :)

Cuban Press: Grasp a barbell/dumbell and perform a wide-grip upright row until the bar is about two inches below your clavicle. Once the bar reaches this level, hold the elbows steady while externally rotating the bar as if you were trying to touch it to your forehead. As the external rotation phase completes, press the bar overhead. -Eric Cressey

This is the right description Wink

Personally I just do the "cuban" I just do the external rotation movement, I don't actually press.

Really important, because many people (im in those) forget about external rotation movements. So the ratio between internal/external is screwed ... Normally we shouldn't exceed 2:1 internal/external

I don't think that for this year I can even think about living as PT.

Today's Training !

BW Circuit

Squat
Push Ups
Rows

10 minutes, 520 Reps again, possible to reach 1rep per second ? We'll see. (I don't think so but I can still dream)
