Firstly I'm new to forums so here goes.I am experiencing some pain located in my elbow joints when doing tricep workouts. It normally sub sides after my first 2 warmup sets.I warm up doing free hand dips on a low bench(2 sets x 12 reps) move into rope pulldowns(1 set x 12 reps,20lb weight resistance)no pause between..I then up the weight on the rope to 30-40lbs 3sets x 8 reps and using dipping bars I complete 3 sets x 8 reps.I combine tricep workouts with bicep workouts.I am worried that the pain I am experiencing may be to incorrect form or the wrong type of exercises.I am not large jointed man probably small/medium size joints would be a close description.Would using elbow elasticated supports during workouts be of any aid.I have been working out daily for more than 2 years.I am between 40-50 years old.

I'd restrict workouts to 5 days a week, weights 4 days a week, and do some kind of split, that allows for Tricep work 2x a week only, as a basic corrective measure.

Perhaps just use some kind of Elbow wraps as well, to be on the safe side, and see how you feel.

out of those exercise i'd go with dips being the problem or maybe just basic overload from too much...i would have you only do the dips and even then i wouldn't be happy as they're not great for the shoulders either...

i would suggest going light on tricpes for a week or 2 with pushdowns and even sets of 50 - 100 with a resistance tube on other days will help to

if still pain than look at total "elbow volume" with shoulder and chest work which may also need addressing...if you do chest, shoulders and arms on different days than you may need to re jig your schedule to give the elbows some extra rest days

where in oz are you?
