Is it normal that I feel that squats are WAY less heavy moves than deadlifts ...
I was thinking about replacing my squat by another variation of Deads .
When I do my deadlifts, I can't drop the weights due to the fact that I train in my room lol, and by that when I deadlift I do at the same time the equivalent of a front squat ...
Should I put away my squat ( I have squat in 1 out 3 workout) ? |

I think Squat should feel less than Deadlift, as Deadlift probably does use a bit more Back muscle, owing to the motion. The Squat Freebar style will use Back by the nature of where you position it, but probably more as stabilisation, rathen than synergising, and then being pretty active in the process.
Also Squat is less likely to have as great an impact on the Lower Back area I'd think, I.E. Erector Spinae, Illiocostals, as opposed to Deadlifting.
I think you could keep both, or switch one, I don't see any real issues with either option, unless your form, technique, speed or volume are too great. |

| whichever one your better at will be the easiest one...i train at home in a regular room that is meant to be a bedroom and i've never dropped the bar so don't worry about that...put some towell's or pillows down if you need to...keep the squat in or you'll overtrain the deadlift movement...also squats and deads wt should be about the same or at least within 10% of each other, but you probaby don't have a squat rack |

For pillow, I already do but I never ever drop weights.
Yes I do have a squat rack, and yes it is around the same weights for my deads, still feel like deadlifts is WAY more heavy, but to stay away from overtraining i'll stick with 1 out 3 workout with squats for big move |

Try doing some rack pulls. I'm finding that they are strengthening up my lower back a lot and making the DL easier.

if training 3/wek then what yiou're doing is right anyway with deads 1 day, squats another and then a lunge variation on the other...i would do whichever one is hardest for you on mon, lunge on wed and the other bog move on fri |
