as chris said, free wts always
differences btw smith machine squats and free wt squats:
- unnatural line of pull
- no carry over to free wt squat
- increased risk for knee injuries
- no core activation
- no hip / knee stabilisation muscle activation
- just a shit exercise really |

| ok i was just asking and i started when i first began working out doing it on a machine that was not straight up and down like a smith but had a slant but i was just curious cuz the other day i somewhat gracefully feel backwards when trying to go lower towards the ground but oh well thanks |

| if you are new try goblet squat with a dumbbell. holding a DB in a goblet like position in front of you and then squatting down. |
