Hey im thinking about cycling on creatine i have heard alot of my friends say they have haqd good strength gains from it but im wondering what is right for me monohydrate and all the other kinds can some give me some information on what the best is??

First, are you lighter than 180lbs ?


Second, do you eat red meat ?

If you answer yes to one these, you probably don't even need creatine ...

I am 162 pounds and around 5'8" and i dont eat much red meat which is why im considering but if im this light will it not effect me the same??

it sounds like you're not ready for it anyway...get your calories in order before adding any supp's...without adequate calories they won;t do a thing

I use creatine in my protein shakes and I am 6'3" 260 lbs. but am carrying approx. 20-25 lbs. of extra flab. Should I NOT be taking it? I'm about ready to start my summer workout program and above all am trying to lean out and still put on 5 pounds of muscle and was planning on taking 1 teaspoon once/day. Please let me know...

For you it might be beneficial, as you are carrying extra flab, but probably have a good muscle base, if additional flab on your frame is only 20-25, lbs as you state, but this doesn't mean I'm saying it's good for you to do.

Diet should be a bigger factor than Creatine, so get the diet on track, and if you feel you have, thne possibly use Creatine.

Creatine is typically about 2g, from Meat and Fish per day.

Don't forget you might see a 230lb Juicer snarling in a Magazine, and saying they got 40-50lbs extra Bench Press, of Crap like Celltech, but a guy weighing 162 won't, even using something like Kre-alkalyn.

Bulking more gives you more power as well, allowing you to get a bigger increase in power off Creatine. If you weigh less than 170lbs, you probably won't get that great a gains, and for good ones probably need to be over 180lbs.

if you have that much overwt than your diet needs a lot of work so no creatine for you, you'll only waste money without proper nutriton to support it

So then what I am hearing Bossman and swanso is that I should lose this extra fat FIRST and THEN take the creatine because....?

supplements are exactly what the name implies - supplements, meaning they supplement your diet...if your diet is not existant then what are they supplementing??

nothing

so get your calories and training in order which will provide you with great gains by themselves then when all othewr avenues have been exhausted, then bring on the creatine

i've trained for 10yrs and still haven't found the need for it

I think though there should be a distinction between bodybuilding supplements and other types of supplements.

Too many people think BB supps are the way, and most aren't.

Other supps like Vit C, Vit D, CoQ10 etc etc, can be a matter of preferance, as they are not generally use for a BB need, but for things like Coronary, Hepatic, Anti-cancer etc etc benefits, and can be worth it.

Definitely. If you go into GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc. it is a barrage of choices and if you let him, the manager will sell you $200 of supplements that you don't need.

I take one multi 5x/wk, Alpha Lipoic acid, and protein powder. I believe that the multi kept me from the cold this year, the AL acid gave me better skin, and the protein powder helped muscle regeneration.

I put the creatine aside at the advice of some of the experienced members on here until my diet is clean and complete with nutrient-dense food.

I'll gladly take other suggestions, as I am trying for a lean and muscular weight of 230 and 12-15% bf in a year (some one told me at the gym that Hydroxycut is great) but for now, this is what I take and will continue to take.

Someone at the Gym told you wrong. Good diet and training, should be your focus. The ALA may help with a bit of shredding, as good Fat can help remove bad fat. Obviously Muti and PP are fine.

Say no to Hydroxycut, it's not necesssary.

Everyone has great points in this forum...and the guy carrying the extra flab they are right get you diet right before adding anything.... But for the other guy the same holds true diet right and if that is in order have a routine. I like BSN products NO-Explode and cell mass will do the trick. And if you read my posting on prtein it will telll you I like Muscle Milk it taste better. Its really all in what you want to do. Heavy weights at low reps will set your muscles right off and running. It will give you the strength you want and the pump you looking for when you workout. I said this in another forum but CARDIO IS VERY IMPORTANT. DONT FORGET IT. HAVE A DAY WHERE CARDIO AND ABS ARE THE MAIN PARTS OF YOUR WORKOUT. If ya have anymore ? let me know. I love supplements but like the other guys said without the right diet and excerise supplements wont do anything for you. Hope this helps
