Hey All,

I've been weight training for a while and would consider myself more experienced than a beginner. That said, not experienced enough to work this out myself.....

Is a 3 day a week or 4 day a week program best?

I usually do a 3 day program but have recently had some good results doing my first 4 day split. Only problem was that with a couple of added cardio sessions I felt like my life revolved around the gym.

A 3 day program is much more user friendly but ultimately I'll do what is needed to get results.

So can I get the same results using a 3 day program as with a 4 day one?

Is it best to change from one to the other every couple of months?

Basically is it possible to get more by doing less (and have weekends free for the important stuff like sleeping and local footy and eating)?

Thanks.

What have you got better results on, three day full body workouts or a four day upper/lower split?

depends on what time you have available to train, recover and eat...generally 90% of the population will respond best to full body workouts..if time is an issue than a 3/week plan is definately the way to go...you don't need an extra day for cardio really if you're doing the full body workouts properly and even then you can simply run at the park or something...bodyweight circuits performed at home can even substitute here with the same result...most need to revolve their life around exercise, not the other way around...if you want a high quality of life than it needs to be this way...you should be sleeping during the week anyway, catching up on sleep doesn't work either
