Hello everyone. i am new here. i started my routine 2 weeks ago. it consists of weight training every mondays, wednesdays, and fridays and cardio on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays.

on mondays i work my chest, biceps and calves, wednesdays for my back and triceps and fridays for my shoulders and legs. for cardio, i play basketball. before playing basketball i work my abs.

is the routine right? any tips, comments, suggestions would be highly appreciated. thanks =)

Hey and welcome.

Question for you, are you new to weight lifting or has it been a long time since you've been lifting?

If so, especially in the first few months, I like to see beginners and those just starting at it again to do full body workouts 3x per week.

Myself I work a full body Mon, wed, fri and cardio and ab work tues, thurs and sat.

Everyone finds what works for them this is just a suggestion.

I am just starting again after years of not going to the gym. my goal is to lose weight my target is about 180 to 190 pounds, tone my muscles, and feel good and healthy.

I am from the Philippines and the food or diet here is not as the same as in western countries. here we eat rice in every meal, now i have cut down my portions, dishes here is usually a mix of veggies and meat or fish so it is hard to count calories.

Things like Peas and Beans. You get Aminos, and Carbs together, like you'd expect in Rice.

Might not be completely the same Aminos, well certainly with Beans, as Beans and Rice are complimentary Proteins like Peas, but from memory are a match, which means Rice has some Aminos Beans don't, and Vice versa, but you can if you wish, combine them to get a full Amino profile.

So basially Peas or Beans if you want a similar Macro profile, e.g adequate Amino and Carb combination.

Is it okay if i just cut down on the amount of rice i eat? lets say 1 cup or 1/2 cup of cooked rice for 2 meals a day? for breakfast i just eat 2 slices of whole wheat bread, 2 boiled eggs, water, and 1 serving of fruit. for mid-day some fruit again. for lunch rice, veggies, and meat. mid afternoon snack of fruits or some salad with a light dressing. for dinner rice again and veggies chicken breast and lots of water for the whole day.
