my relationship with food isnt the best, and i gained a lot of weight after recovery with annorexia. i lost a lot of muscle mass and weight, but gained it right back in the wrong places.
my question is if i work out 6 days a week, 3-4 days is with weights, how much should i be eating? i'm 17 years old, weight is 122, height- 5'4
is it better to eat when i get noticably hungry - or should i have 3 normal sized meals a day - or small ones 5 times
i just dont know what portions sizes are correct, and not going to make me gain weight. what a portion size for someone who eats 3 normal meals, and someone who eats 5 small meals?
please help
any suggestions is much appriciated! |

Hi there Brittany,
I know exactly what you're going through as I went through the same thing several years ago and still deal with it regularly. Its a tough battle but I'm glad to here that you're getting through it. :) You should be proud of yourself for taking the steps to get better and begin a healthier lifestyle.
If I were you I would eat every 2-3 hours, which would make between 5-7 meals instead of the usual 3. By eating this often your metabolism will stay revved all day.
As typical meal for should be a balance of carbs and protein. You could eat 6 meals a day with 300 calories a meal. This seems like a lot but its really not. That will keep you from going back into starvation mode and will keep your metabolism revved.
I hope this helps. Please ask more questions if you have any. |
