I need help. I'm having a problem with my calves being huge. Everytime I do calf raises my right calf knots up. Not to mention it's 1/2 inch larger than my left calf. I can't wear boots because they won't zip up. I'm told all the time I have big calves and I'm really tired of hearing it. What can I do?

calves are the most "genetically" based muscle you have so you're probably stuck with them i'd say...once you actually build the muscle (anywhere) it will only atrophy (shrink) over time and if your wearing heels etc all the time than it won't as it's constantly in a state of contraction probably only making it bigger

Well that really stinks. I refuse to wear dresses or skirts because of my calves. I'm 5'4", 135 lbs. and I have 15 inch calves. I absolutely hate them, but thanks for replying.

if they're solid muscle than they won't shrink i wouldn't say but if you think there's som fat on them it might dissipate but it will take a while and you'll need to go a fat loss type program but even them they might only shrink 1cm or 2...stretch them right out which may give them the illusion of being long

The only other possible options, is perhaps to change the reps, or cut the weight back, to prevent promoiton of the muscles. Without that previous intensity that might cut the muscle back.

However ther may possibly be a small amount of Fat gain, coupled with any muscle loss, if you do such things.
