Hello everyone! I am new and would like to ask a question about cardio. I have an elliptical at home which I use 5 to 6 times a week for 45mins to 1hr. My question is I want to tone my legs not bulk them up...should I be easing up on my levels(tension) however I get a better workout that way and seem to burn more calories. Lighter tension longer workout or tighter tension shorter workout? I also do strength training 3days a week cause I know cardio alone will not tone me up!! Thanks ever so much for your help!! |

| you'd have to elipticaling (just made that word up) like a demon for your legs to grow from it, if they seem to be getting bigger than it's probably dietary more than anything |

| you didnt say if you were a male or female, but i take it ur a female since most guys want to get bigger. either way, the before post is right, it takes serious training to get ur legs bigger from an eliptical, to best tone ur legs i would recommend doing HIIT training or higher resistance training to tone because doing these will cause ur muscle to "tighten up" in a way, like doing squats for higher reps, i wouldnt worry about ur legs getting too bulky, ur not going to wake up one day with tree trunks, if it was that easy everyone would be doing it, you have complete control of how big you get so dont let that fear hold you back |
