It can do, because many Protein Powders to my knowledge, contain Carnitine in the Amino chain, which can assist fat loss, if you believe that, though personally I think some people buy it seperately and take it like it's going out of style.
Though yes, they can, as they can be taken as part of a good meal plan, and therefore keep your Metabolism healthy promoting possible fat loss. Just don't expect a lot of Fat loss potential off one. |

Not really. Losing fat is simply caused by eating fewer calories than you burn in a day. Of course, the types of food and timing of food do contribute to how efficiently you lose fat. Eating real food instead of supplements is always best, but when you can't get in a good source of lean protein some protein powder is not a bad thing.

| Okay, a Q, What if you want to burn fat, and gain muscle. It says that you need to eat more cals to gain muscle, but you need to eat less to burn fat? how do you compensate then? |

| i think you can gain musce and lose fat at the same time although it takes longer...over a 12 months period while training for athletic reasons, i dropped 10% of bodyfat and gained probably 5kgs of muscle without trying...just ate better basically but didin't eat less or more on purpose, just ate as normal...the point??? simply cleaning up your diet can drop fat while at least maintaining muscle which is what you should be aiming for ecspecially for fat loss not neccesarily dropping cal's to ridiculous levels |
