Since I don't have access to a personal trainer, I found Turbulence Training on the web, which seems to be a good program so far:
http://www.turbulencetraining.com/
It's an outline of a lot of things that have been recommended here...mixing up the weights and doing the full body at the same time plus using HIIT instead of long bouts of cardio.
The reason I was interested in this is because it has 4-week programs of weights, so it gives me lots of different exercises I can do to keep me interested...and I don't know much about free weights, so the descriptions and pictures of the exercises are helpful.
And it had an 8-week money-back guarantee, so I figured why not. There are a good number of programs included in the price, which was $40. They're all e-books.
I have to say the dude's kind of an ass on the forum, though. If you're not asking his advice or complaining about how un-motivated you are and begging for help, he doesn't seem to want to hear it.
So I'm pretty happy with the programs and have enjoyed the first 3 weeks I've been doing it...but I'm not at all impressed by the forum or the guy in charge. Thinking about asking for my money back just out of principle. |
