My heartbeat reach 185 plus during the cardio, too risky ?

Hi : I'am a 42 years old male, just start treadmill 2 months ago,I never really had any exercise on the past 20 years. I know my Max heartbeat rate should come out to 178 per minute ( 220 - 42 ) . My question is during the level 5 cardio on the treadmill , my heartbeat usually around 170. But on level 6 cardio, my heartbeat reach 185 + . Should I stay with level 5 to the rest of my life or I just go on to level 6 ? Is 185 plus per minute really too danger to my heart ?

if you've been checked by a doctor and have no symptoms or anything you can get up there but probably not for extended periods of time just to make sure...for great fitness the longer you can stay at 80%+ of your HR MAX the better but only go higher than your max i intervals then recover etc

When you initially start working out (and are a beginner), it is common for your heart rate to shoot up wards to wards your max rather quickly. It is a "shock" to your cardiovascualr system and alerts it to move more oxygen throughout the blood. As stated, if you have been cleared by a physician and have had all rick factors nulled, than the HR shooting high will actually taper off the "fitter" you get. I have had plenty of clients who were alarmed by this, but it was a sign that they had a lot of work ahead of them.
