can't be done...the most you could lose with the most perfect plan in the world is probably 10pds if you're really lucky...do the following anyway and see how you go:

deadlifts
squats
olympic lifts
plyometrics
sprints
solid protein
veggies
salad
fish oil
sleep
water

Never say never, although I agree it is unreasonable.
Did you see the V-Diet thread in the PC clinic? The guy lost that much in a month.
However, it takes a lot of dedication and the motivation to follow the plan to the letter in order to get the right amount of nutrients and exercise.
Not for everyone, that's for sure.

20lbs a month is wrong. The most anyone should lose is 4lbs a week, anything more is almost certainly Muscle and oher things as well, and realistically 4lbs a week is not really for people weighing 20lbs over weight, it should be for people with a 200lb excess, gradually reducing to 2lbs a week within about 60-80 lbs of the end goal.

That guy who lost 20lbs in that way, did it wrong to some minor degree, and it may possibly come back to bite him.

Well Boss, not sure about that. You'd need to check out the training thread, as the details are many.

If that link doesn't work, go to T-Nation and check out Gustavopancho in the PC clinic.
It's not a program for the average joe.
Normally, I would agree that 20 lbs in a month is silly and unreasonable. But for someone who has the dedication, this plan works. And it is set up so you don't end up gaining back the weight plus more.
I'd be interested to see your opinion.

Well I think there's potential issues with that, having scanned it.

For a start 10OZ Steak. Depending on the cut of Steak, that's about 75-90g Protein in one go. That's probably excessive.

Even if a big natural guy tries to get about 300g a day, I don't believe about 30% of that needs be in one meal.

Also the guys diet consists of 5 meals, two of which have any food in, the rest have supplements.

He also seems to be dosing up on BCAA to make up for the lack of Protein.

Im my humble opinion there should be more food protein in there, and less reliance on BCAA, and no overdosing on Protein. 7OZ chicken is about 70g Protein too. I think that's too much in one go and is not necessary.

Remembering of course you're producing a lot of Uric Acid, which can cause issues potentially with the Kidneys, maybe the Liver, and Kidney stones, and possibly in the future Gout.

Also the HRX, you probably know what that is, I'm declining to comment, but I still maintain, 20lbs a month is still too high, regardless of the person.

4lbs is the most Fat anyone an lose in a week. Anything more is muscle loss to some extent. Most people don't even need to lose 4lbs a week, unless they're morbidly obese. Probably anyone under 50lbs overweight would only need 2lbs a week losses, 50-100 overweight, 2lbs a week, maybe 3.

about the clinic:

the people theyare tyaking are "pre trained" people who have had a crack before with training so their programs are a bit more advanced than what i would give someone on here...they probablky have previously been in decent shape (the bloke on the lnk already has good muscle mass but a lot of fat) and just need to refine what they have...program isn't wizz bang or anything simply compounds done heavy with short rest like i say all the time but they have almost exclusive access to thier coaches who are the best in the business at what they do

for the everyday person who tried to emulate this without personal guidence, not much would happen...all of it is individualised to the person

All I'm saying is that it is possible.
Boss, you didn't read the entire thread, just the end points. There is a lot of info in there you missed. All the info about the macros is at the beginning.
Yes, the guy had a lot of muscle, which makes him ideal for that program. There is a girl who is not pre trained at all following the same, I'm curious to see where that ends up. Her weight loss has not been as extreme so far, although I think she's at about 8 lbs in 2 weeks.
It's not just compounds, for that particular case it's more the diet than anything.
Like I said, not for the average joe, but it is possible with determination and a whole lot of discipline. The whole program is layed out there, and I have seen other threads where "normal" people have had success with it, although having top notch coaches makes a huge difference. The diet itself is simple, but the training that goes with it is specialized. Most people wouldn't know where to start and would end up over-training and under nourished.
I know HRX is not your cup of tea Boss, that's all good, I am thankful for differences in opinion, otherwise I'd have nothing to argue about. Personally, I love the stuff!
