|
|
I would like to lose a few pounds. I've freed up 45min to 1 hour a day for some much needed exercise after work. There are ellpitical machines and treadmills but I find the elliptical is better on my back. I was wondering if anyone could give me any help on the most effective workout on an elliptical for weight loss.
With the remainder of my time are there any other exercies that might be beneficial as well?
I've also been utilizing a more healthy diet with more protein whole grain and fruits/veg but never had time for breakfast (bad i know) I've heard many great things about oatmeal which would be perfect for me but I'm assuming this isn't your usual sugar filled packets of oatmeal? Any direction on type/brand or any recipes???
Thanks in advance |

Thanks for the response but what I have to work with are the machines at my workplace so it's gonna have to be the elliptical/treadmill or nothing (please don't say nothing!)
Right now I just don't have the time for a gym so for now I'll have to work with what I've got. |

Unfortunately not somewhere close enough to give me ample time for a workout. The hour commute one way to work everyday doesn't help either. I really just want to shed a few pounds and by the sounds of things you're thinking adding weights is my best option, but at this time it's not a realistic one.
There has to be something better than the 45min routine that the elliptical tells me is best for me, right? |

| well you need to stimulate some muscle which cardio doesn't do (it actually assimilates it)...push ups, squats, lunges and things of that nature...you should get yourself some therabands or resistance tubes too and all you need is a pole to wrap them around...don't look for the "easiest" option, that won't even shed a few pounds |

| You can do some bodyweight exercises right there next to the machine and then do 30 minutes of cardio so you are getting both your strength training and your cardio vascular workouts. |
