Well if you are in fat lost process, it may happen offen to be hungry (not much tough you need to keep you proteins high and fat moderate ...) trusth the veggies they help a lot ... and if your really care about veggie's cal well just eat tons of broccolis (only vitamines/minerals fibers and water almost)

Whenever i feel hungry i eat. If this happens late in the evening then i might put some fat under my belt (although i eat as many veggies as i can on that occasion-they help a lot) but it will be because i haven't eaten enough in the whole day.

I eat 3mins before going to bed and during the night (shake) and my BF haven't bulge since my last "cut" so don't worry, time your carbs and eat healty fats lol

For houtson the only difference I would do if cuting is reduce the carbs, increase a bit the healthy fats and remain proteins high, and checking my cals to do a little deficit everyday (around 2.2k 2.3k calories in my case, witch is easy to reach)

BUT ... mass gain ftw, I love eating lol

I have been trying to eat 3500-4000 cals a day with 180gs of carbs, 200gs of protein, and 70gs of healthy fats and it is not easy.

If you had something like Casein before bed, then you wouldn't need to drink shakes during the night.

You might be creating a situation with forced waking to consume shakes, where you develop irregular sleep patterns, because you're not necessarily going to fall straight back to sleep again afterwards, especially when the body is having to start processing fresh nutrients again, which means you're potentially inhibiting it's natural attempts to relax, and not properly allowing the Hypothalamus to help you sleep, as the Hypothalamus also, (to my understanding), is responsible for digestion, so you might make that part of your Brain, attempt to do two things at once, and if it, (in theory), prioritises digestion over sleep, you're looking at I would say, 30-60 minutes, (approximate estimate), before you can enter into a fresh sleep state.

However you would get Tryptophan creating Seratonin releases, which is beneficial potentially for sleep, but it depends on how you make the Brain respond to Seratonin induced Tryptophan ingestion, when it's also working to digest something.

Then you attempt to stimulate an area of the Brain to do one thing, whilst it's doing another.

I'm not saying this possible conflict of interests you might create, is bad, but it might not help with sleep patterns, and good bodily recovery, if you're doing things that cut into the bodies rest and recover time through sleep.
