| OK, so I am 22 yo, 5'8" 275lbs (7 wks ago I was 294 lbs.). I am on the diet that a PT put me on when I signed up at the gym, and I am eating 1800 calories a day. Also, when I started, I talked to a doctor and she said that 1800 is a good number and that I could even eat as little as 1400 calories a day. However, I am also lifting weights pretty heavy and am trying to build muscle as a lose fat. I was thinking that I should probably be eating like 2500 calories, but I was not sure. I've read of doctors putting really obese people on diets of like 600-1000 calories a day, so this made me think that me eating 1800 wasn't too low. But, I'm afraid that 1. my body may go into starvation mode and conserve fat (which would really suck) 2. i may not build any muscle or 3. both. Please, help me out. Thanks! |

- your PT is shit, get a another one
- 1800cal's is far too low...you need to start at 15 cal's per pd that you weigh and work down from there which is over 3000
- doctors don't know shit...they may be good at heart surgery but not much else
- yes it will
- go to diet section and read "...read before posting..." |
