So today I participated in our provincial championships for power lifting. I made the Nationals, which will be held next spring. Here is a few vids from the day.
Squat 90kg (198.4 lbs)

LOL @ the sloppy knees wraps, I was rushed to get on the platform
Bench 50 kg (110 lbs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QD8yQUyj-1g
DL 105 kg (231.5 lbs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUCIOWgYmbE
Total 245 kg (539.9 lbs) at 60kg, Masters I, belt and wraps only. It was a fun day. Next week I start a new training cycle and my next meet will be late January at the Niagara Open. I need to set some new goals |

| WELL DONE. You should be very proud of yourself. You're a brilliant rolemodel to other women. |

great vids, i was about to post something about how you and chris went
here's what i cans ee if you care:
squats - seem to break at the knees first rather then the hips, it looks like you could sit back more...the 75kg one looks easy though so probably just the heavier wt
bench - bar travel path seems to be straight down rather than a small arch to sternum and back over shoulders, may harm shoulders long term
deads - bum rises a little forst but a great lockout...need more speed off the floor though
great though, i hope chris has some |

Diana, great job. Look like the deadlift was a tough one but you pulled it off! May I ask what weight class you were it?
cheers |

Chris didn't show.
Vamp I compete at 60kg (132) but I weighed in light at 130. Last meet I came in at 132 on the nose, I was a half pound heavy Saturday night so I did a bit too much water. It's a fine line. Normally I train at 134-136 so it's not a big drop and my performance doesn't really take a hit for it.
The DL was not hard, I am slow off the floor. I forgot to point my toes out so I left 10kg on the floor there. By the time I got to the third attempt, I was too tired to put any effort into it. I knew I had my totals by then too.
Next meet is 8 weeks. I will try for Class II, 272 kg (600 lbs). I need to add 60lbs onto this meets totals. |

Great job, Diana!
I am so jealous. Your deads are more than twice of what I'm lifting! |

Dob't worry about that Kaite. Time and patience can make it happen for you too .
You should always be proud of your efforts too. |

My DL is the weakest link. I have a friend who pulls 3 plates for reps at 123 lbs. She is also Masters I. For my age and weight, I am just below average for a raw lifter.
Swanso, the squat was a 40lbs meet PR and a 10lb PR, meaning I did 190 in the gym and 4 weeks ago I did 160 in a meet. The DL is a 10lbs PR, both meet and gym. Bench is a 5lb meet PR.
Katie, just keep at it, I haven't suffered from any health issues or injuries and I know you've had your share. Anyone can get strong, you just have to keep plugging away at it. I've got a ways to go too. |

Next is a meet at the end of January, it's an open meet so anyone can participate. I'm doing it for the experience and because some of my friends are participating as well.
I will start another round of Sheiko on Monday. This week I'm just doing some recovery stuff. I forgot how hard it is to count to 15 for reps. This round of training is going to be very challenging because I'm working a lot at the gym and I have my graphics business still.
But I'm kinda looking forward to the pain. |
