Just want to introduce myself. Name's Evan; I live in NE Oklahoma. I'm 21 years old, 5'7" and 280lbs... Yikes.
I've been overweight my entire life but always figured I'd have another growth spurt or something which would jump-start my metabolism and aide me in losing weight. Ha!
I've been making small changes over the past year and have brought my weight down from 330lbs. Just recently have I been doing research on what it will take to reach my ultimate goal: 145lbs.
I don't particularly eat a lot, but on a young bachelor's budget most of what I do eat is unhealthy. At least it was, until I really started wanting to get things moving.
Right now I'm compiling a meal plan that's cheap and easy to eat while on the move (I'm a delivery driver). After I get something down on paper I'll focus on a simple exercise routine to get the ball rolling. I don't have any equipment, so it will be mainly cardio for the time being.
I hope to learn a lot from this website and its inhabitants, possibly even make a friend or two
That's it for now, gotta make a meal plan!

- mate let's face it you'll probably never be 145pds and why would you wanna be...i''m 5'6"and 170ish and i'm small..that should be your bottom range right there i'd think
- for food go to diet section and read "read before posting...""
- for training there's plenty of bodyweight exercises that you can do...cardio sucks arse really...muscle burns fat, not jogging...also get yourself to a gym i'd say...anyway search "your body is a barbell" by alwyn cosgrove and do as written |

Thanks swanso, thought i'd have to get onto someone else's case about wanting to weigh to little for their body. Wish the bathroom scale was never invented, it is such a crappy tool for "measuring" your body. Heck, the best measures are how you feel and the mirror followed by the tape measure and body composition tests.
Cheers |

Nice to meet you Evan!
I'm glad you found the site! It is a wonderful source for weight loss and workout programs and I'm sure you'll find it to be quite useful in helping you to meet your goals.
145 seems like an awfully low weight for you. If I were you I would try to measure in terms of fat percentage instead of what the scale says. The scale doesn't differentiate muslce from fat so isn't always the best way to judge progress.
Good luck with your weight loss journey! Feel free to post any questions or an example of that meal plan you're drawing up so suggestions can be made to help you along.
Good luck and congrats on taking the first steps to adopting a more healthy lifestyle!

swanso's thinking
500 lb squats = leg workout
leg workout = need nurishment
need nurishment = eat protein
eat protein = eat chicken
eat chicken = eat kfc
eat kfc means eat everything in sight.
LOL
Cheers Swanso! |

Kentucky Fried Calories .
The problem is of course he may have to sacrifice low bodyfat. So if his Bicep Veins never show again, you will know the KFC has helped him to gain mass, but it has taken its dues, by having it's wicked way with his muscular deliniations.
