| If anything, I think it will make it slower. Weight training like squats will make your legs stronger but it may take a toll on your speed. I think you should both weight train and speed train. Things like jump rope and agility exercises should help your speed and footwork. Also i heard working out your core helps your speed as well. |

| getting stronger will have you running faster...squats can do this if trained with low reps so as to maintain or decrease your body type but increasing your strength...as long as you continue some form of sprinting your body will adapt to both...aim to squat 1.5 x your bodyweight and you'll be golden |
