| I would like to know how i can tone up to show muscle definition in terms of sets to reps ratio example 3 sets 12 reps what the best sets to reps ratio to use in order to show muscle definiton thanks. |

3 to 4 sets of 12 reps is fine when training to define muscles. But all that hard work will mean nothing depending on your bodyfat. Less bodyfat = more definition. Therefore nutrition is essential (eat plenty of protein). Cardio is a great way to burn those excess calories also. This will lead to a carved musclular frame  |

There isn't necessarily a clear cut answer because everyone responds differently. You might do well with a full body workout 3 times a week, 2 sets of each exercise. If you're not looking to build, 10-12 reps may be effective. However, depending on your body type, this may not be the best workout.
Losing fat is a huge part of bringing out that definition. Getting a defined look is really more about buidling muscle and losing the fat that is covering them than it is about doing a certain type of workout.
