| most people i've been seeing say they take 40 some g of protein after workout. 1 scoop of my whey is 24 and then i add 6-8 oz of milk (thats what directions say). so if i wanted to wanted 48 i would put 2 scoops of whey in but not add anymore milk right? |

Milk is combination of Whey Protein and Casein. Roughly 30% Whey, 70% Casein.
If you add Milk compared to Water
A: You increase Viscosity which may slow absorbtion..
B: You add some Casein, a slower digesting Protein source, also possibly affecting absorbtion, also dependant on the levels of Fat in the Milk.
You would with Milk though increase your Protein usage possibly, from the Carbs, but absorbtion rate lowering, would be more of a con, than the Carb and Protein sythesis interaction would be a pro, in my opinion
If you double your scoop, and add Water, you wouldn't get any Carbs, but you almost certainly would increase the absorbtion rate, bearing in mind most protein powders have some Casein, even Isolate, and also reducing Viscocity. So no don't bother adding Milk then.
Chances are someone would get quite a bit of Protein wastage, (with 2 scoops and Milk), if they were having potentially around 60g Protein, when they were not massively built, and the body wouldn't need that much to at least maintain mass levels.
