great, great, great exercise...yes it is hard balance wise for some but i've never had a problem with it...sometimes if you're using a wt that is too light, it's hard to counterbalance, like an overhead squat without a bar...don't try and go to slowly either...what exactly is the problem with it?

I've actually been wondering about these too, but more on the technique side. Does anybody have a link to a video or something showing how to correctly do these because last time I did them my lower back hurt for days :-\.

keep your back straight, chest puffed out, shoulders back
as you lower, bend your arse back a little, same thing when you deadlift
if you get a sore back you must be rounding youre low back i'd say |

So is it more of a romanian DL or a normal DL motion then?

well most do romanian's with stiff legs which isn't great for the knee's but i do them with semi stiff legs so knees are at an angle of about 20 - 25 degrees with the knee bend being caused by my hips being pushed back which makes it more of a 1/2 deadlift motion and in that case, yes they are like romanian's
