Hey, I have been training for basketball and have been trying to put on some muscle mass, but I don't know if my routine is good. I weight train 3 times a week, usually Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In between those days I do cardio and basketball drills. I try to keep these sessions short for about 20-30 minutes so I don't burn too many calories.

Mondays I work my back (which I have the most problems working out, and I need help with that) Wednesdays I work my legs and fridays I work my chest. I work secondary muscles on those days to, but I was wondering if maybe I need a separte day to work my arms for better results.

I need advice ASAP. It would be greatly appreciated.

-Chris

Tell us exactly what lifts you do. It wouldn't kill you to add in another 45 minutes. I can guarantee you are not eating enough you look like a young guy so you should be eating at least 4000 calories a day in my opinion others may disagree.

Perhaps age and weight will help calculate calories better and what u are currently doing as a routine. IE squats 3x8 and number of days etc.

Just a question swanso, do you recommend any rountine or method other than waterbury? Curious, as I have not actually seen this method, does it actually work for every's GOALS or just for pure weight lifting type sports?

I did read that article in the other post "make your client bulletproof" found the info to be very well laid out, although wordy, and very understandable with he's explanations.

i endorse it simply because of the following reasons:

1 - it's easy to follow
2 - it gets people into the full body training train of thought and out of the bodypart bodybuilding programs which won't work for 90% of us
3 - it has pictures
4 - most simply want to build muscle, strength and burn fat...this will do the first 2 and a clean diet will do the 3rd hence the article refferral too

what article was that? i remmeber it but i don;t remember twlling nayone to read it??

Cool I'll check out this Waterbury program. Seem to be good reasons to use it. Thanks

By the way, that article was one that another member asked you to read in another post. See if I can find it again or something for you.

Yea, that's an old photo when I was 143, I'm 165 so I have to upload a new one. As for the calories I get around 3000-3300 calories a day so I will up that, and I do compound lifts like squats, and deadlifts, back rows.

I will give the waterbury program a try though. Thanks everyone.
