I need motivation and inspiration big time!!
I stopped exercising 5 months ago as I hit a wall, but am having real difficulties motivating myself to get back into it. Am trying to tell myself to get off my arse, but have really hit a brick wall and don't understand why as I have always been active. I have no other "stuff" going on that would stop me mentally or physically working out.
I am angry with myself that I can't get over this hurdle. PLEASE help, would appreciate any suggestions/comments! |

So then get off your "arse' and do it. It's a choice you make, if you want to be fit, then you will take the steps that you know you have to take.
Go stand in front of a full length mirror and take an honest look at yourself and decide if you are happy with your condition or not. Even better, take some pictures, it's easier to lie to yourself in the moment, but the pictures will tell the truth.
A lot of people say they want to get in better shape, but talk is cheap. If it's what you really want, then log off the internet right now and get moving! |

you stopped ? How the hell would you, lifting is my life and passion sorry i don't understand you sorry lol.
I hope you are not the "Oh no I,m fat imma eat some ice cream to forget it" person ?
No one can motivate you to go in gym, or just to take a walka day and eat correctly, only YOU CAN DO IT. |

Here's a simple answer. The long-term.
Ask yourself who do you want to be in 50 years?
Someone with pretty good health, or someone that might be feeling stiff, and getting mild Osteoperosis, and below average Heart Health?
You're still in a position to make good changes, but the bodies ability to improve and adapt, gets worse after 50, when things like Bone density can really go downhill, and muscle mass may slowly start to atrophy little by little with time, and in several years from now, do you want to start getting back into it, then realise the way you feel is being partly reversed by good living, but could have been better by consistantly good living?
You have to ask yourself AM I WORTH IT, or do I deserve to get old and become physically quite crappy? |

all of the above...
as well get someone else in to exercise with you to hold you (and them) accountable for each session
social support is the most misunderstood factor in training, ecpsecially fat loss which requires a different lifestyle
also the fact that we are now the fattest nation on the planet should be enough
let's put those yanks back where they belong |

Agree, put the yanks back where they belong, lol. I love it, that should be motivation for all of us. roflmao.
So agree with social aspect of training. Not letting your partener down by not going, someone to count calories with, help with body measurements and keeping you accountable and honest with yourself. Partener stretches after workout. Someone to help push you for that extra rep or 1 more minute on the treadmill.
And safety wise you will always have a spotter! |
