Hi, i'm 15 year old male who he just started working out. Just wondering what age did you guys start working out?

Also as being 15 i cant go to machines in the gym so ive been thinking. As i play alot of football ( soccer where you are mabye ) i might just concentrate on my diet.

So you guy think i should just wait till mabye late 16 till i do the weights and just concentrate on my cardio and diet to tone up a bit?

thanks guys Laughing

Well like how do you define working out? I have been doing it the right way for about 7 months now. I have been lifting weights for 4 years now though.

I started working out at 21 and it wasn't until right now, at 35, that I saw tremendous muscle gains. So it took me a while until I figured out what was really good training and what wasn't.

Take advantage of this time in your life. You grow like crazy when you're 16-18. I don't see anything wrong with beginning a sound weight training program that puts on serious size.

I worked out until 18 and then stopped. What a life-altering mistake that was! Now here I am, 34 fat and having to start all over again.

I started at 14 till 18, blew out my shoulders (poor form, wrong excercises, etc. etc. etc.)

34 and starting over (boo hoo all those lost years lol)

body weight excercises to start as swanso said, push-ups, pull-ups, dips, skipping, swimming, squats and lunges, inverted rows, jogging, stairs in your apt. complex (if you're in one). Get these going with control and good form, before you know it you'll be 16 and in the weight room.

Also, diet, start now to eat right!

Cheers!

I started what I'd consider working out in high school at about 14 or 15, just working out at home in the living room. For weight training I only did pushups, situps and only had two 5 kg dumbbells to work with which I did bicep curls, alternate hammer curls, flys and military presses. Back then I didn't know the names of the exercises and of course had little knowledge about weight training and this was the pre-internet days of my life. So consider yourself lucky you are getting wonderful knowledge here at such a young age.

I've been fairly fit all my life mostly from riding push bikes, but a motorbike accident 2 years ago made me quite weak and the past year or so I been concentrating more on weight training.
