I drink 20oz of water first thing in the morning before breakfast. I do it to hydrate myself and feel better. It’s amazing how lethargic you can become once you are even the slightest bit dehydrated.

Drinking water is something that is good to do all day. There is no time of the day where water is more effective, it works no matter when you drink it. A good tip is to drink water 30min before eating. And why is that a good tip? Because it fills up you stomach a bit, and then you won't eat as much.

One thing however! Cold water burns of calories, because the body has to warm it up before it can uptain it.

hope this helps Very Happy

I'd politely disagree in part. I think just from my opnion, Water would probably be more mildly effective, during exercise to maintain hydration, than other parts of the day.

Put it this way, from experience, a few years ago I upped my Water intake, when training in the colder months, because I realised I couldn't allow myself to lazily cut back, just because it wasn't hot enough to want more. I used to not want water as much except when it was hotter, so gradually I used to drink less in colder months. Often without thinking about it. It wasn't a forced thing.

I lifted about 7.5kg more on Bench presses, over roughly 4-6 weeks, making that one change. Just that one change.

That's not to boast or anything like that, I'm just making a point, but you said good things about Water, and especially on the preventing you from over eating bit Smile.

Um, water moves through the body via osmosis, so it doesn't really have calories..

Also, the question is a bit weird. When is it "effective" to drink water? Um, when you're dehydrating (aka all the time).

But when you say "more/most effective" that just sets up a redundant question. It's obviously more/most effective for hydration purposes when you need it more(dehydrating more), which is when you are active (lifting weights, running, etc).

In regards to weight loss, the whole weight/water relationship comes from the newfound obsession with the number of the scale instead of bodyfat percentage... the weight you lose/gain because of "water weight" is just that. WATER weight. When you keep your body hydrated, your body won't hold on to water as much. If you don't get enough water, your body will adapt and store water so it can go longer without it. I'm not saying that if you don't drink water for a month you will suddenly sprout a hump like a camel, but you definitely will be a couple pounds heavier (if you're not dead).

Also, there is no way to skimp out on water by "drinking it at more effective times and thus making up for the fact you have 1 glass a day and 7 cokes the rest of the time you're drinking something" which is what I personally think you are looking for.

I like the sound of you Water and Cokes idea Nicaraguan, but most admit, the stated level of cokes would be a tad high for my liking. Were I to ever adopt such an intruiging methodology, I'd probably cap myself at 2-3 Cokes daily Wink.

Should have said to the guy asking the question, you can actually get a lot of water from food, so you don't need to be overly concerned about drinking it like a fish, but a bit extra in liquid form doesn't harm.

i think it is better to have one or two glasses of water in the morning and when ever you are having a meal take a few sips (not a complete glass ) of water to help the digestion and whenever you are working out you should drink water as per my experience.....and whenever u r thirsty.
Apart from water give proper care for moisturisers and creams to help save the skin from getting rough. Very Happy
