I'm new here. I have been looking for a site for advice and support and all that good stuff. I have been dieting but not hardcore and running pretty hard core for about three months and have lost 28 pounds so far. From 225 to 197. I have just starting lifting weights as well. Only my first couple of weeks lifting so far. Anyway, hello and here is before and now so far.

Before.

Awesome job so far!!! 28 pounds is a lot to be proud of! Welcome to the community. There are lots of great people here that will be more than happy to help guide you, support you and encourage you along the way in your new lifestyle!

I see you already posted some questions in the threads- great job on that. Ask as many questions as you feel necessary. One thing I learned early was that there is lots of information in the "read before posting" section in each seperate forum that each of us can shape to fit our lifestyle. Lifting weights will make your progress shape very nicely.

Again, Welcome and congratulations on your success so far!

The main thing is, you are proving to your daughter that you can be a positive rolemodel, which is a very good thing, as she is probably around that age, when she may be starting to get those first few memories in life.

Doing this now, is better for her development of her feelings towards you, and also for you, in terms of being able to be there for her more, as being overweight can be restrictive in certain circumstances, for any parent and doing this for you will translate to her, because emotionally you can't care about yourself this much, and not give her the same, as logically that wouldn't make sense.

Healthy active parents in my belief, almost always are good ones, because of that relationship between themselves and the way they live, transferring onto their children.

So this isn't about just what you have done, but also what your actions represent for your child, and what they say about you.

You've still got a way to go, but importantly, you haven't been losing silly amounts per week. You're only losing around 2.33lbs a week, which is sensible and shouldn't result hopefull,y in some if any lose skin later on in time.

Keep up the hard work, and keep showing your charming little Lady, what a good Dad is like to have. Some kids don't get that, for one reason or another. She can get that, and I am 100% confident through your deeds and actions, you CAN give her that parent, child experience she needs and deserves.

Keep on trucking big man okay. It's a long road, but it doesn't have to be a difficult one, and you're proving that point :).

I KNOW you will make your daughter proud of you some day soon :).

Thanks! I want to start teaching her to play tennis and gold soon. Now if I can get mommy a little more motivated.

I got a long way to go but feel like I got a good start. Seeing my fat self in that first picture was one of the big factors that made me want to change.

I just wanted to share a few more pics. I have lost 40 pounds so far and have been hitting the weights pretty hard. The first one here was taken July 25th. The second one was taken today which is Sept. 19th. I didn't realize that it was that much of a difference in till I compared these two pics today.

WOW Wevie!!!! You look awesome! Very handsome you are! :D I'm so excited for you and the progress you have made. The changes are incredible, not only weight loss, but with muscle definition and tone. Your arms have so much more muscle and cut to them and your waist is just shrinking away, but with some definition as well. You look confident and happy. You can be proud of your progress, all your hard work is shown in these pictures and I just wanted to say.....YOU ROCK!!!
