hey guys. well i havent worked out in a while, but recentley ive been doing the 8-minute workout video which i think doesnt really work. But i was wondering how do i do a good sit-up and what does a sit-up improve my abs in..low abdominal, etc? is it entirley necessary? i think even though i dont look out of shape i think i am. i dont do cardio, or run or anything.
any advice would be good actually, diet plans, etc. |

I don't think any of them programs work for abs.
Question though, what do you mean by - Is it entirely necessary? Is what entirly necessary?
Heres some exercises I like to do. Find something, maybe two feet tall and thin. And lay down flat on your back with the object in between your legs and put your legs together and lift them up and over. I call them bridges. When I first started doing them, I found it a good workout for the lower abs.
I just tried the bicycle cruch earlier. It works my abs so much. Probably just because I've never tried them before, but it should work well with you.
And for diet. I have no idea. I don't diet or run at all. I normally eat whatever I want. Mostly fast food, but somehow I still have my abs. |

oh i just meant are SIT-UPS entirley necessarry? i mean what do they workout that crunches dont?
is there a good site u guys go to for ab advice, etc. and i always hear people saying i do over 100 crunches, 50 sit-ups, etc...i usually do like 50 crunches and thats it. is that enough you think?
and with those keywords i put in, i found lower leg raises, but i couldnt find alot of the twists. is there a site i can find these at?
and should i do ab excercises daily? or every two days? and when i usually do them the next day they feel sore, that means i worked them out right? |

I'm not sure, I rarely ever do situps. But I work my ab's out every day.
I think you're talking about reps, and sets. Imo, you should set your own standards, and not use someone elses. Set your workout to what your body can handle, and then gradually increase.
From what I've read, soreness does mean you have worked them out. |
