Does sprinting makes you lose muscle? Or not?
I will start sprinting again in the end of the week, when my foot gets better.
If I sprint, for how long I should do it? I sprinted twice, and hurt myself from the 2nd time. The thing is, I couldn't do more than 4 sprints. It's because our treadmill, doesn't have the thing when you use what speed, and it speed up, you have to keeep pressssssssssssing to reach the max, or the mini, so it's gets tiring, and our treadmill reaches speed of 12 only. Anyways, if I want to sprint should it be done on cardio days or lifting days? Sometimes i play basketball for 20 mins on lifting days, is that okay? its the only times i can play. Okay, and if i did it on cardio days, should I add one day or cadio that goes like Walk with speed of 4.5, and jog on 6? 2 mins each speed for about 20-25 minutes?
I really like to do cardio more than 20-25 minutes, for more calories loss. The 2nd cardio option for me is biking. Whether in a real buke, or that stand up machine bike. The one that works all the muscles, if it was put on level 8 or so.
So? |

| Basketball is fine, and as for sprints, you might lose a bit of muscle, as Cardio can do that, but I doubt you will, and if so it would be probably nothing to worry about. |

I thought that sprinting gives you muscle, and works your whole body? That what I've been told, but I do worry, cause I don't seem to gorw musle anymore. I think it's part of protien issue, which I'm fixing, but i think it's cardio as well. I want muscles, and fast. I know it doesnt gorw fast, but I want to feel a difference. I feel I've been in the same shape, or amount of muscle for a long time now, it's getting annoying. I want muscle mainly in my arms, and abs, and I don't seem to really know how to achieve that!
Btw, if you work for let's say more than 3 parts of your body, and each has two sessions, with like 8-12 reps, does that work?! I'm talking about weights I cannot handle 100%. I can hold, work with for few reps only.
Thats how people gain muscle as I've been told, but I really want muscle. And I dont know how to achieve them in my abs anymore. I feel I'm losing muscle there than gaining, or I just have as much as mucle I had 3-4 months ago!

I'm, not fully understanding that.
I don't know if Sprints build muscle, but Sprints do use the Fast Twitch Muscle Fibres, responsible for explosive movements. |

| What I meant is ..Sometimes I work for my back, for my triceps, and biceps, for my shoulders, for my legs...all in one day, and I give each about 2 sessions, and sometimes more. I even work with different machines or workouts for let's say my biceps and triceps. I'm not sure if that's why I'm not gaining muscles. But I cant seem to focus on few parts, and just work for them. And when I mean weights. I mean I lift stuff that I can't 100% full handle. I can work with it, but not for too long, just few reps. For my arms, In some excersizes I can lift a 5 kgs, in some other, I don't. |

| you don't lose muscle directly because of sprinting as long as recovery (which includes rest & nutrition) is on spot. what happens is that after sprinting your VO2Max increases and that increase in oxygen consumption is catabolic since you burn more calories in and especially after the sprinting... so if you don't compensate by enough calories you will loose some fat and some muscle. |

How many days recovery should be? 2-3 days? If i wanna do it twice a week? My calorie intake is well. Around 2000, sometimes a little less, a little more...that's all. What is VO2Max. never heard of it? |

| Okay, well if you're talking about total body workouts, yes you can do that but restrict yourself to 3 times a week, and don't go nutso. So don't do like 4-5 sets a time, or you'll be doing in excess of 10 sets per muscle. |
