|

Just curious what info anyone can give in regards to creatine. I've read some posts around here that state to cycle creatine so you don't beat up your kidneys. I didn't know that creatine could have that type of affect?
I use creatine every day I work out. I take a small little dosage before my work out and then drop some protien post work out.
Should I cycle also? I've been droppin creatine for the past 3-4 months now. Should I cycle off for a month? |

i don't know about the kidney's thing but like verything the body gets used to vreatine so it's effects won't be as good if useing continually
loading
20 grams a day over 4 - 5 dosages for 5 days
maintainence
5g a day over 2 dosages beofre training and before bed
if you don't want to load you can just do 5g a day but it will take longer to work
all that being said if you're diet is already high in red meat you won't need it as your creatine levels will already be pretty high, maybe not optimal, but you'd piss more creatrine than you'd absorb if supplementing on top of that (what happened to me anyway) |

Hmmm...
Ok.. well let me ask a really stupid question. What does creatine do for you? I thought Creatine was what gave me those few extra reps with a few extra pounds of weight. Is this correct?
Also, why is it so important to drop Creatine before bed?
Sorry if I duzn't sound so bright right now. |

| your right but a lot of the muscle gain is water storing in the muscles so doesn't really correlate with strength gains but i may be wrong...your body repairs itself when your a sleep so before bed can't hurt |

The other way to do a maintenance, is 5g post-workout, 5g before bed.
If you do that, and you don't have to, some just do a 5g maintenance, make sure the two scoops are 6+ hours apart. If they're not and you finish working out say 3 hours before bed, take the other scoop first thing instead.
There is several different types of thinking on cycling.
1. 3 months on one off.
2. 2 months on one off.
3. 3 weeks on 1 off.
Those are the most used types of Creatine cycle I've heard of.
Other forms of dosing include.
3g pre-workout, 2g post-workout.
2g pre-workout, 3g post-workout
1 scoop post workout.
For more info, check my sticky on the Supplements section, I did a brief write up on this and other supps, regards using and dosing. |

Yes. You can usually buy plastic or metal spoon sets, that come on a ring.
Kind of like measuring spoons, that differ in gram sizes, usually between about 1-10g from memory. |

| Creatine doesn't work the same as Protein. Protein is a combination of about 21 Amino Acids, Creatine in basic form is a combination of 3, so the extra Aminos in Protein, probably give the overall Amino structure, more stability, thereby allowing greater consumption in one go, without any physiological penalties. |
