Have to say congrats. You should be very proud of yourself, not just for that, but for all the other fitness things you've achieved, site, book, etc etc.

You're definitely a very good rolemodel, for other females, and no doubt a great source of help and inspiration.

Forget lucky truck, more like lucky website. It's good to have people like you around here, so I hope that doesn't change anytime soon. I've certainly appreciated what you bring to this site.

Well done to you for everything, and keep up the hard work. I read somewhere you plan to compete. I hope it works out for you Smile.

Take care.

P.S. that last picture is definitely an optical illusion, makes one of your Calves look peanut sized. Nothing negative meant by that at all Smile.

Thanks everyone, and thank you Bossman for that! I used to compete, but I've retired now. I train competitors now. Smile

Retired? I actually thought you were going for a firts show, my mistake. I hope the training works out for you, oh I should ask how succesful were you, and what prompted the move from competing?

I did small shows with very few figure competitors in them...I placed mid way. I definately had the leanness, no problem, but my ectomorph physique does not like to hang on to muscle mass. It was great though because I learned all the ins and outs of competing and have since been able to train a lot of successful competitors.

I gave it up because I really don't want weight training to be my focus and it would have to be. I was made to be an edurance athlete and that's what I love, so that's now my focus.

Thank you for asking!

Unfortunately that is the competing world for you regards physical framework.

I saw recently a picture somwhere else of a Canadian amateur, and a Canadian Pro, and the difference in physical definition, structure and overall physique quality was astounding.

It seems the pro physique is considered a bit too developed, for the amateur ranks, then when these athletes get pro, they just can't place well for maybe 1-2 years possibly more, because they're how can I put this, under done compared to more seasoned pros.

I admire the hard work that goes into getting on and then finally off a stage, but I can't get over the constant moving of goal posts, guideline and rule changes, and no consistancy within one organisation.

I actually know of a regional contest here in Britain that happened 2 years ago, and due to the lack of competitors it went ahead anyway.

3 people went on stage, one was about 4-5 inches shorter than the other two, the one who came second was apparently too hard, and the winner had red shoes on and no tan.

Got to give these people a chance after months of prep, but dissapointing to see in the contest pics.

Cest la vie.

Sorry, I hope I haven't started a storm in a teacup. I know you train competitors, and of course my comments are not designed to take a swipe at your hard work, as I appreciate it's very hard to diet and compete, and it must be pretty difficult to just help someone to get there.

Yeah, judging never seems to make sense. I had women place ahead of me who had less muscle mass, more body fat and didn't even smile onstage. Shocked You never know. Things seem to be changing and the drift seems to be toward greater muscle development, even for women. I'll just try to stay ahead and train my girls to be winners if I can. Wink

There does seem to be a slight move now though in the Pro BB ranks, to cut back on mass a bit, or so I believe, as many think things like Ms Olympia apparently in an expo hall, and things like GNC being scrapped, shows a lack of enthusiasm for women who are overconsuming illegal enhancement substances, and getting overly huge.

I personally think if you have 12 "unnaturals" on a stage, it's a level playing field, so I don't think badly of that, but some are overdoing it with "substances", and it can make some look too rediculous offseason, and they're definately putting success and the modest financial winnings, ahead of their health.

Funny you mention people with more fat and no smile.

I saw a documantary once about two people who did BB comps, and one guy was puzzled by the fact, his wife had done a show the year before and come second.

He'd asked a judge a few questions. I may not remember these correctly

1. Was she bigger than the other competitior? Yes

2. Was she better looking than the other competitor? Yes.

3. Did she have better presentation than the other competitor? Yes.

So why didn't she win?

She wasn't as aesthetically pleasing.

He said on camera, what's that supposed to mean. That's B.S.

Then when she came second again, he was dissapointed, and they revealed at the end he was trying to persuade her not to do it anymore.

I recently saw the words "Aesthetically pleasing" on a list of criteria, for I think for the WNSO organisation. It annoyed me, as it looked like a mystery element nobody knows how to achieve, and therefore can be used like a get out clause for WNSO, to allow whatever they want to happen happen, and then use that as an excuse for the wrong competitor winning.
