Does this sound like an ok diet?? I'm 5ft 5, and weigh about 135 lb, female, 25 years old. Trying to maintain weight & get healthier & fitter.

8am - cereal, low fat yoghurt & trim milk
9am - trim mochaccino
11am - 2 pieces biscotti
12pm - 1 cup asparagus & pistachio risotto (homemade)
2pm - mandarin
3pm - 1 cup hot chocolate (made with water, small amount of trim milk, no sugar)
6pm - sweet & sour pork with noodles (homemade)
7pm - 8 jelly sweets
8pm - 6 squares bittersweet chocolate

I also walked home from work (30 mins at fast pace) and went to the gym (10 mins on cross trainer + high intensity strength training).

8am - cereal, low fat yoghurt & trim milk (Good)

9am - trim mochaccino (okay)

11am - 2 pieces biscotti (what for?)

12pm - 1 cup asparagus & pistachio risotto (homemade) (Might need more Protein. Not sure what the content of this is like)

2pm - mandarin (Change this to something like a Banana, and eat this with your 3PM drink, you need a bit more Carb and Protein then that. Mandarin only gives about 9g Carbs. Banana gives you 3x more Carbs. The drink is too low in Protein. Plus having it at 3Pm, you'll be spacing it 3 hours between meals, instead of 2 hours after one meal 4 hours before the next)

3pm - 1 cup hot chocolate (made with water, small amount of trim milk, no sugar)

6pm - sweet & sour pork with noodles (homemade) (Good enough)

7pm - 8 jelly sweets (Forget them. They're just pointless calories and Sugar)

8pm - 6 squares bittersweet chocolate (Protein and Carbs are better here. The chocolate is going to do nothing).

So your diet isn't really bad, but some meals lack Protein and Carbs in sufficient amounts, so you're probably undereating, and using in some cases muscle for Energy, which is not what you want.

I would estimate Calories need to be about 400-500 a day higher, possibly more.

If you need more Protein and Carbs, here's some examples to have .

Egg Whites. (Protein)

You could also have some sliced Turkey, as a Wheatbread Sandwich, at 8PM, and have the Mandarin you replaced with a Banana earlier in the day.

You could switch that Biscotti for another Low Fat yoghurt. Eat one with Fruit Pieces in for more Carbs.

You could have with your Banana at 3PM, some Low Fat Cheese, as a good way to get Protein. Wedge type Cheese has about 5g Fat in it, so that's good.

I would look to add something like 1/4 Cup Almods 2x a day, to boost calorie intake and health Fats. Don't have the Almonds with consecutive meals. Split them so say Almonds with meals 1 and 4, or 2 and 5 for example.

So you have some feedback and examples of how to alter diet. Hopefully that helps.
