Hi all,
I am new to the site and from what I see I am going to like it. I do have a question. I have recently gotten back into the gym for the past 2 weeks. My questions is...... is it good to go everyday or every other day? Can you combined weight lifting with cario in the same 1 and 1/2 hours? Also anyone doing pool exers? Just wonder if that works. One more thing, MY BEST TO ALL OF YOU, WE WILL DO THIS TOGETHER. |

Hi there Michelle!
Nice to meet you and welcome to the site!
You can go to the gym every day as long as you take atleast one day off per week. Also... if you are going every day its best to alternate weight training and cardio days so your muscles are able to recover after workouts. I'm currently doing weights Mon-Wed-Friday with HIIT or other intense cardio Tues-Thursday and recreational cardio (hiking, biking, kayaking, etc) on Saturday and Sunday off. This plan seems to work well for me. You should try not to do both cardio and weights on the same day if possible as you would most likely be getting a mediocre weight routine with a mediocre cardio routine. You'd be best to do all cardio one day and put 100% effort into that cardio routine... then do all weights the next day and again put 100% effort into that weight routine. This way youre getting quality workouts.
I hope this helps!
Cassie :) |

Welcome! Good advice above me. Do make sure you take some rest days, as rest and recovery are very important, and sometimes overlooked.
Not sure exactly what you meant by pool exercises. Swimming is an excellent form of cardio.
Let us know how else we can help. |
