hi everyone i was wondering if there is a difference between doing exercises where you hold your body weight instead of doing repetitions. for example, will doing planks give you different results than doing crunches, or pull-ups compared to flexed arm hang?
thanks

planks are better than crunches but hanging from a bar won't do much compared to pull ups
if wanting to do holds instead of reps you need to know the "max force" points of each muscle
chest - hold a half push up position
back - hold a half pull up position or the top position of a row where your shoulder lades are ssqueezed together
delts - half shoulder press position
bi's - half curl position
tri's - just before lockout position
quads - half squat position
that being said i think reps are better overall but you can holds to the last rep of the last set of each exercise if you want |
